Spanish bullfighting fans got a first-hand look at the splendor of slaying an enraged domestic bull publicly for sport when the bovine bounded over a barrier into the crowd.
The mayhem went down at an arena in Murcia, Spain, on Sept. 20 at the 2026 Murcia's Bullfighting Fair, per The Sun. Footage widely shared on social media shows the bull, which weighs over a ton, going unhinged after relentless taunting from a Portuguese bullfighter
The six-year-old bull, named Malacara, charges past the shrinking matador and leaps over a barrier, landing near the gasping crowd.
"I saw it with my own eyes, the bull jumping over the fence into the crowd," bullfighting fan Juan Perez gushed. The Sun reported that Perez was just a few rows away from the action.
"The animal was out of control. It was extremely lucky that nobody was injured," Perez recounted to the outlet. "There were women in those seats and they were close to being gored by the bull's horns."
However, a second, concrete barrier managed to keep the bouncing bull away from the slack-jawed spectators.
Malacara was then herded back into the arena, where he was executed, per the traditions of the centuries-old sport.
Bullfighting in 2026 Has Had a Couple of Doozies
Of course, this is hardly the first time a bull got the upper horn in a bullfighting event. This past May, bullfighter Albert Duran was gored right in the groin in the final qualifying round of the Copa Chenel in the Comunidad de Madrid region in Spain.
The 36-year-old was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery on his grievously injured groin. Doctors also discovered a blood clot in his leg, requiring additional surgery.
Meanwhile, that incident followed 46-year-old bullfighter Morante de la Puebla getting a horn up his rectum at a bullfighting event in Seville, Spain, in April. The bull punched a 4-inch hole where the sun doesn't shine, per The New York Post.
Morante de la Puebla required surgery for reconstruction of the rectal wall and sphincter. The bullfighting veteran hasn't announced whether he will go hand-to-horn with a bull in the arena again.
