The 25-year-old rider suffered injuries in the frightening incident, leaving spectators stunned.

The incident took place during the Rodeo Tierra Caliente on Sunday in the Bronx.

Bull Rider Hospitalized After Frightening Rodeo Incident

According to the NYPD, the event was a sanctioned rodeo held on Bruner Avenue in the Baychester neighborhood.

Reports claim the rider lost consciousness while still on the bull, with it believed he may have struck his head.

His hat flew off as his arms appeared limp while the bull violently bucked beneath him.

Moments later, the animal launched him from its back, sending him crashing to the ground.

However, one of the rider's feet remained caught in the stirrup, leaving him trapped beneath the bull as it continued moving and trampling him.

Spectators and event organizers shouted in alarm as the bull continued to kick and thrash around the arena with the rider underneath.

Witnesses Describe Chaotic Rescue

A group of men eventually managed to free the rider and carry him out of the ring.

He was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Witnesses said he was briefly unconscious and bleeding following the incident.

"My buddy got hurt a little bad," fellow bull rider Gato told The Post. "He was hit pretty hard. He was doing his thing on the bull, but he got caught up in the spins, man, and he got hit on top, threw down, stepped on, got unconscious. Hope he's alright."

Osvaldo Sanchez, who witnessed the incident, said bull riding always carries significant risks.

"There were a lot of young kids also obviously witnessed this, and they were also like worried about what has happened," he said. "I already had experience of all of that, so I was really used to it. I didn't mind recording it, like really up close."

An off-duty paramedic who was attending the rodeo reportedly rushed to assist the injured rider.

According to reports, she used her bare hands to stop the bleeding until emergency crews arrived.

The full extent of the rider's injuries has not been disclosed.
