There are many things that can benefit from a salted caramel drizzle, though until today we'd never thought that chicken wings might be one of them. Buffalo Wild Wings Salted Caramel BBQ wings aims to change our mind by adding caramel and salt to their Honey BBQ sauce as part of the chain's limited time summer menu.
Salted caramel wings may seem like a weird combination, but wild wing sauce flavors is something Buffalo Wild Wings is known for (salt and vinegar, Parmesan garlic, mango habanero). Plus of course, you can hack your own B-Dubs (as the chain is known to fans) sauce to create a mix of flavors, so it was only a matter of time until someone came up with the sweet and salty mix of salted caramel and barbecue sauce.
The idea behind Buffalo Wild Wings salted caramel wings is the theme for their summer menu: friendly rivalries, just in time for NBA and NHL playoffs. For food rivalries, you've got salty and sweet from the wings, plus the chain is featuring an East Coast versus West Coast rivalry of Samuel Adams New England IPA and Lagunitas IPA.
If the salty and sweet mix isn't your thing, salted caramel is only one of the summer's new sauces. You can also try Korean BBQ wings, with a sauce that's a blend of soy sauce, red chili pepper, rice vinegar, and garlic.
And if you want to branch out from wings, Buffalo Wild Wings has a few other limited time items, including Over the Top Nachos (chips topped with a half-pound of chicken or pork, corn, pickled red onions, jalapenos, green onions, cilantro-lime ranch, and white queso), a Monster Pulled Pork Cuban (pulled pork glazed with bourbon honey mustard, topped with bacon, Swiss cheese, pickles, and garlic mustard), a Smothered Cheesesteak Quesadilla (sliced sirloin steak, melted cheese, and white cheese sauce), and a BBQ Chicken sandwich (Honey BBQ sauce covered chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, pepper jack cheese, and hickory-smoked bacon on a toasted bun).
According to Brand Eating, the summer menu items can be found at Buffalo Wild Wings locations nation wide through August 19.
