Kerri Rawson, who was told in 2005 that she was the daughter of BTK serial killer Dennis Rader, is a well-known advocate for abuse victims.

Now, ironically, the New York Post reports that the bestselling author has received a domestic violence injunction.
A Restraining Order Was Filed Against Kerri Rawson
Darian Rawson, Kerri's ex-husband, filed the injunction against Kerri in Florida. He alleges that Kerri had "expressed statements multiple times that her kids are in immediate danger."
The injunction, which a judge granted earlier this month, caused Kerri to lose custody of her two children. She made repeated warnings that the teenagers were going to be murdered.
The injunction describes an incident that allegedly took place on Jan. 5, 2025, less than two years after Darian and Kerri divorced after nearly two decades of marriage.
Darian said Kerri had requested he come to a police station in Altamonte Springs, Florida. She then told him that "she had psychic powers and had detected that the kids were in immediate danger and would be murdered that morning."
Kerri also allegedly made a 911 call to police to report that "shots had been fired and three people were dead," referring to Darian and their children. Officers found everyone was unharmed.
The police report states that Kerri "advised dispatch that there were approximately three to four active shooters at the apartments and three people down."
Rawson Was Then Taken Into Custody
Officers then took Kerri into custody under Florida's Baker Act for an assessment of her mental health.
One report showed that officers described Kerri as "an individual known to make inaccurate and fabricated statements about incidents that did not actually occur, due to mental health issues."
The order filed by Darian gives him full custody of his children. Kerri can only communicate with them electronically and is prohibited from going near their home, school, and pets.
However, Darien reported in February that Kerri violated the order. Records show she made several phone calls to him. In one voicemail, she allegedly "asked for money."
Another message has Kerri allegedly "asking about the children." She referred to the protection order being in place and "trying to understand some things that have happened in the last month."
The abuse advocate has not publicly spoken about these incidents. In a Facebook post from last February, she said: "It's been a brutal few months on top of everything else."
She also linked to a GoFundMe page claiming she had been hospitalized with COVID-related issues. It has raised nearly $9,500 to help with housing. She was evicted from her property in March.
