Bruce Springsteen's and his wife, Patti Scialfa, recently got some great news regarding Scialfa's cancer diagnosis.

During her appearance on Springsteen's 2024 documentary, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Scialfa revealed that she had been diagnosed with myeloma.
During her appearance in the doc, she noted that the disease affected her immune system. And that being able to "come to a show or two," or "sing a few songs onstage," had become her "new normal."

However, during a recent performance, Springfield told the audience that Patti's cancer is officially in remission.
"As you know, Patti's been living with her multiple myeloma for over eight years, but now, thankfully, she is in remission," the rock star said in a transcript obtained by Page Six.
Myeloma is a form of blood cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow and can lead to bone damage, kidney problems, and a weak immune system.
Springsteen went on to pay homage to the nurses and physicians who helped get his wife to this point.
"Like millions of families facing cancer, we've learned what every patient learns: Hope has a face," he continued. "It's our physician, who refuses to stop searching and caring. It's our nurse, who sits beside us when we are scared."
Springsteen continued to emphasize the importance of science and medical research as a key in Scialfa's recovery.
"Patti's journey has taught us something. I hope every one of us and every American can understand. Medical research isn't an idea. It isn't politics. It isn't a line in a budget," he added.
"It's the reason families find hope when hope seems hardest to find. When we lose sight of that, we lose sight of one another, and that's too high a price for anyone to pay."
Scialfa and Springsteen have been married since 1991 and have three children. Evan, Jessica, and Samuel. In a 2025 interview with TIME, Springsteen said what initially drew him to his wife was that she saw him for who he "really was."
"I knew she saw me for who I really was," Springsteen told the outlet. "A complicated, messy person. I didn't have to pretend. I was broken. She was broken in her own way, and we were each other's personal projects."
