Brittany Aldean Shares Her Harrowing Account of the Las Vegas Shooting

Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean, has shared her experience during the Las Vegas shooting that took the lives of 58 people and injured 527 more.

When the attack began, Jason Aldean was onstage performing his hit "When She Says Baby." Brittany was away from the stage in a tent with friends and was unsure if she would make it out alive. You can read her entire description of the horrible events below.

Brittany says her "first instinct" was to run to her husband. "As we laid behind equipment onstage with some of our road family, bullets flying past, all I could think was, 'I never even got to hold my baby'," she wrote. Brittany is currently pregnant with the couple's first child together, a boy, to be named Memphis.

"We were the lucky ones," she said. "I can't put into words the pain and heartache we feel for the ones who are no longer with us."

Aldean has been tremendously affected by the attack, even cancelling two concerts in the wake of the tragedy.

He shared an emotional post the day after the shooting calling for unity in our nation. "This world is becoming the kind of place I am afraid to raise my children in," he wrote.
