Britney Spears has checked herself into a rehab facility following her DUI arrest in March. According to a rep for the "Toxic" singer, who provided a statement to PEOPLE, Britney voluntarily made the decision to attend the rehab.

"Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully, this can be the first step in a long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time," the rep said in a statement. "Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue plan to set her up for success for well-being."
The decision was made after Britney was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol in Ventura, California, on March 4. The pop star was released the following day.
"This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable," a spokesperson for Britney told Us Magazine in a statement. "Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in a long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."
Britney Spears Posted a Dancing Video to Instagram Shortly Before Checking Into Rehab
Just hours before opting to check into a rehab facility, Britney posted a raunchy video to her Instagram.
In the footage, Britney is wearing a sheer black thong bodysuit, a red hat, and black high-heeled boots. Furthermore, she has clearly chosen not to wear a bra. The footage is borderline NSFW due to the near-miss wardrobe malfunctions throughout.
In the clip, Britney is dancing around a room, and at one point grabs her bare butt before shaking it toward the camera.
As the video continued, Britney ditched the red fidora she was wearing, letting her hair down, both figuratively and literally.
There is no information regarding the expected duration of Britney's stay in rehab. Hopefully, it provides her with the help she feels she needs.
