What Happens to Britney Spears Now?
The 44-year-old singer is due to make a court appearance for her arrest on May 4.
TMZ reports that Spears was taken to a local hospital this morning, but she was not injured. California Highway Patrol officers took her there to draw blood. Police have not released the results of her blood alcohol testing. However, the outlet says it was a .06.
The legal BAC in California is .08. However, drivers can still be charged with DUI if authorities observe erratic driving.
"This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable," says Spears' manager, Cade Hudson. "Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."
She added, "Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being."
Spears Also Took Down Her Instagram
Over the last several years, Spears has become known for her dancing videos on Instagram. But last week, the singer took down her account. Back in January, she explained the reason for her clips.
"Interestingly enough, I dance on IG to heal things in my body that people have no idea about," she said. "Yup and it's embarrassing sometimes... but I walked through the fire to save my life..."
In the same post, Spears mentioned making a long-awaited return to the stage. But don't expect to see any U.S. cities on her list of tour dates.
"I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons but I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son... in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon," she wrote. "He's a huge star and I'm so humbled to be in his presence!!!"
