Singer-songwriter Brent Cobb reflects on a day in Nashville in his new single, “Solving Problems.”

Brent is the cousin of acclaimed producer Dave Cobb, whose worked on award-winning albums from Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson and Chris Stapleton. He also stepped in to help Brent record his debut solo album, Shine On Rainy Day, which is set for release on Oct. 7.

“Solving Problems” gives country fans one of their first glimpses into Brent Cobb’s own set of creative talents. He was previously featured on Dave Cobb’s concept album Southern Family, which was released earlier this year. His twangy track “Down Home” supplied listeners with a sneak peak of his talents as both a writer and vocalist.

This time around, Cobb rolls through a conversation between himself and another Nashville songwriter. The two manage to discuss a little bit of everything, from Merle Haggard to the meaning of life.

Cobb’s ability to take a small, everyday moment and transform it into a musical time capsule is a true gift. There’s something that draws you in abut his laid-back style of singing. It evokes the same feeling you get when talking to a close friend – comfort, joy and a reminder of how important these little moments in life really are.
