The child star's mother, Thays Brandão, allegedly told doctors she believed her daughter to have had dengue fever. This was before medical tests revealed Millena had a brain tumor.

Child Actor And Model Millena Brandão Dies From Multiple Heart Attacks

Millena went to Maria Antonieta Urgent Care Facility on April 29 after she had fainted in the bathroom at her home. Just five days before, on April 24, the actor reportedly suffered from strange symptoms. They ranged from headaches, leg pain, a loss of appetite, and drowsiness.

Once at the hospital, tests showed Millena had "a urinary tract infection." Thays told Brazilian news outlet G1 that her daughter arrived "unconscious in my husband's arms." She later gained consciousness once at the hospital.

There are differing accounts of how many cardiac arrests the young star suffered from. The Daily Mail claimed she had 13 heart attacks between Wednesday and Thursday. On the flip side, The Sun reported that Millena had 21 cardiac arrests.

Even by Monday, her mother had no idea why her daughter had died. "The doctors still haven't said what really happened to my daughter and what killed her," said Thays to G1.

According to the Daily Mail, a physician who saw Millena on April 24 didn't do tests but recommended her medicine for dengue fever. "He told us to take her back home and give her dipyrone," Thays revealed.

Her daughter was set to partake in a modeling event on April 26 but had to back out due to her leg pain. After tests revealed no issues, doctors told her to rest at home. Thays also mentioned that a nurse allegedly scolded Millena for crying once she was at the urgent care facility.

"She told her not to scream, that the pain wouldn't go away like that," Thays complained. Once she was at the hospital, she experienced her first of many cardiac arrests. "Her lip turned purple," her mother recalled. "Then they resuscitated her and intubated her. From that day on, she never woke up again."

Thays, as any frustrated mother would be, was disappointed with the lack of care her daughter received. "They only did a CT scan, and the doctors said they saw a 5-centimeter mass in her brain," said Thays. "But they don't know if this mass was a tumor, a cyst, an edema, a clot...because they couldn't open her head to see."

Millena was best known for acting in the Netflix series Sintonia. She also starred in a soap opera called The Childhood of Romeo and Juliet.
