Country singer Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber are celebrating the arrival of their baby boy.
Barrett Hardy-Clay Gilbert was born on Saturday, Nov. 11. He was born in Piedmont Hospital in Athens, Ga. at 1:37 PM, weighing 6 lbs, 7 oz and 20 inches long. The newest member of the Gilbert family about a week early, his original due date being Nov. 17.
"Honestly, I'm just speechless," Gilbert said to People Magazine. "Watching the delivery, I don't even know what to say. Amber and I are just so thankful and blessed to have this beautiful little boy."
Gilbert described the labor as "really fast," reporting that the baby was born in about 30 minutes. Barrett's middle name is a nod to both sides of his family. Hardy is a family name on his mother's side, and Clay is a family name on the Gilbert side of the family.
Baby Barrett is something of a miracle for the couple, who have been open about their struggles with infertility. They tried for two years to conceive a child after tying the knot in 2015.
The arrival of Brantley Gilbert's new son comes after a year filled with country music births. Jason Aldean, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum are also expecting children. Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line will also welcome a new daughter in the coming weeks.
