'Real Housewives' Star Says $16K Monthly Medical Bills Wiped Out Her Savings

Viewers of the Real Housewives franchise on Bravo may assume that the affluent women on these series have an endless supply of money at their exquisitely-manicured fingertips. That is not always the case, however. In fact, Brandi Glanville, an alum of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, can seemingly attest to that. She is being treated for what People describes as a "facial parasite causing her disfigurement." The cost of her treatments is allegedly staggering. Glanville claims that her savings have been practically vaporized by them. She says that the treatments cost $16,000 a month.

Glanville Has a Complex Medical Regimen

She shared quite a lot about the situation with co-host James Maas during the September 11 episode of the Unfiltered podcast. Glanville said that "I do one IV in the morning. It's like hydration and potassium. Well, potassium is at night, it's something else... So, that's a couple hours and then I have a two-hour break." However that is not the end.

Brandi Glanville added, "Then I got on my amphotericin and my antibiotic. Amphotericin's about three and a half hours. Antibiotics like 17 hours — you wear it to bed. It's my little purse. I named it Chet."

How Long Will Her Treatments Last?

There is no definite answer to that yet. She speculated, "It's been like a month and half now. They said in the beginning 3 to 4 months and then we'll re-check everything. He said it could be a year. We'll go off of it and see if I improve but right now I'm not feeling good."

James Maas mistakenly thought the cost was $12,000 per month. Then Glanville told him the actual bill comes to $16,000 a month. She also has assistance with all the meds from a nurse.

Glanville Wept When She Talked About Her Hardship

During the past three years, Glanville said that she just about exhausted her bank account while trying to get a diagnosis. Now that she is undergoing treatment, the enormous bills are still mounting. A friend has even launched a fundraiser on Glanville's behalf.

Brandi Glanville glumly admitted, "Even with my insurance, it's $7K a week and then I have creditors calling me all day. Gina started a GoFundMe for me and I'm embarrassed, honestly, because I don't like to ask for help and I never thought I would do this. If I stop paying, I won't get my medication and then I won't make any progress. And right now, I paid half and I still owe them."

She went on morosely, "I'm just spent in every way and I don't want anyone to see it. But I don't know what to do...I feel like a loser, I feel like I definitely hit rock bottom."
