LongHorn Steakhouse is Now Selling Bourbon & Steak Ice Cream Sundaes

If there is one thing that LongHorn is proud of other than their legendary steaks and highly addictive rolls, it's the fact that their steaks are never frozen. However, starting on July 1, it's all about to change with LongHorn Steakhouse's newest menu item, a dessert you have to taste to believe. The steakhouse is finally freezing their steaks, but it's not what you think.

Introducing the LongHorn Steakhouse Steak & Bourbon Ice Cream Sundae

Combining bourbon and ice cream has always been a big hit for frozen treat lovers. Most recipes are usually based around a vanilla ice cream dotted with bourbon caramel and some sort of deep nutty note, like the addition of brown sugar pecans. But this is the first time I've ever seen actual steak in ice cream.

According to LongHorn, the Steak & Bourbon Ice Cream is "boldly seasoned with flavors from LongHorn's proprietary Char seasoning, and features bits of steak and swirls of bourbon caramel, inspired by LongHorn's own bourbon." Jim Beam bourbon that is.

The sundae is served with two scoops of the bourbon steak ice cream and topped with a helping of bourbon sauce and steak sprinkles, which are made with actual beef, brown sugar, and beef stock. The sprinkles taste like your favorite ribeye with a hint of steak sauce.

Instagrammers are already commenting on the new dessert, sharing their confusion. One even posted, "Social media management mix up the April Fools post? ?" while another shared how excited they were to try out the dessert.

The ice cream sundae will be available starting on July 1 at select locations in New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Houston, Cleveland, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, and Tampa. But you better hurry, the ice cream is only available while supplies last. So skip the chocolate cake, this all-American ice cream has your name on it.
