Bodycam Footage Shows UFC Star's Arrest

Airport officials had a terrifying encounter as they were tasked with detaining former UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier.

Airport officials had a terrifying encounter at an airport in Georgia, as they were tasked with detaining former UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. Encountering an angry, trained MMA fighter would be tough enough. Trying to subdue one of the best fighters of his generation is a totally different ball game.

Bodycam footage of Poirier's arrest has now surfaced online, and it's going viral. The footage begins with Poirier being abrasive toward an employee, before offering to fight them.

"Let's go, big dog," Poirier says at the start of the footage, via The New York Post. "Let's go, big dog. What's up? Buncha hos. Let's go. Let's go. F----n' lying motherf-----r. Yeah, pulled me off the plane, all my boys went to the f----n' crib. Now, what the f--k?" Poirier said.

"Are you Dustin Poirier?" the attending employee asked, before muttering to himself, "he's a UFC fighter."

"I'll fight you right now, I'll go with you right now," Poirier continued.

Despite Porier's aggressiveness, the encounter remained somewhat contained. No punches were thrown, and nobody got hurt. Once the situation was de-escalated, and Poirier was in handcuffs, he turned to the employee and told him, "You did a great job."

Dustin Poirier Has Since Addressed His Arrest on Instagram

On Tuesday, June 23, Poirier addressed the airport incident in a post to his Instagram story. He admitted that he's been struggling since bowing out of the UFC in July of 2025.

"I'm at the point where I need some help. Walking away from fighting hasn't been easy on me, and alcohol isn't the answer. It has ruined my father's life and I will not allow it to ruin mine, my family deserves me at 100%," Poirier wrote. "I'm trying to do everything I can to get my mind right and take the right next steps."

According to TMZ, Poirier was charged with "Public Drunk" for the incident at the airport. The charge can carry a one-year jail sentence. However, there's currently no information regarding his legal issues stemming from the arrest.

For now, MMA fans around the world will be hoping Poirier can get the help he needs.
