Police Discover Body Of A Man Who Disappeared Two Years In Georgia
Over two years ago, Alex Hodgson Doughty decided to visit the United States. Doughty's missing person's report shared that he was last seen "at Bay Street Bar and Grill, 119 East Bay Street, Jacksonville, Florida at around 3.30pm on Sunday 11th September."
Additionally, the report shares that he "got into a taxi which dropped him in Kingsland, Georgia at around 4.30pm. No one has seen since." Well...until recently.
PEOPLE Magazine shares, "U.K. citizen Alex Hodgson Doughty was discovered dead by authorities in a wooded area on private land near. Kingsland, Ga., on Feb. 4." A medical examiner confirmed his identity, and his family was notified.
After his identity was confirmed, the FBI issued a statement. Special Agent in Charge Kristin Rehler spoke about finding the body in that statement . He stated, "While we had hoped to bring Mr. Doughty's family better news, we are thankful to be able to provide them with some closure." The FBI shared that they expect no criminal charges.
