Star NFL Quarterback Publicly Airs Frustration With Head Coach: “He Doesn’t Even Really Know That”

Bo Nix has clapped back at Denver Broncos' head coach Sean Payton after he divulged too much information to the press

The Denver Broncos' season came to an end on Jan. 25, courtesy of a 10-7 loss to the New England Patriots. However, the franchise is still making headlines because its star quarterback, Bo Nix, is upset with head coach Sean Payton.

Nix is reportedly frustrated that Payton gave the media too much information regarding his season-ending injury. The sophomore quarterback broke his ankle in the final minutes of the Broncos playoff win over the Buffalo Bills.

'I don't think he really should share how many surgeries I've had in the past, to be honest with you, he doesn't even really know that,' Nix said.

Nix then took a lighter tone with reporters, discussing his excitement at playing on the biggest stages the NFL has to offer in the future.

"For me, it's just going to make playing in one of these games all that much more special," Nix continued. "I can't go back and play in that one, but, man, I can do something to see how many I can play in the future. That drives me."

Payton will now need to work on fixing the potential rift with Nix, especially if the Broncos want a shot at redemption next season.

What Did Sean Payton Say About the Bo Nix Injury?

Nix's frustration likely stemmed from Payton noting that his broken ankle was a matter of when, not if, it happened.

"What was found was a condition that was predisposed — they always find a little more when they go in," Payton said in a news conference. "It wasn't a matter of if, it was a matter of when. When you look at the play and you're trying to evaluate it — the doctor, the operating surgeon said that this was going to happen sooner than later."

Payton and Nix will have all summer to figure things out and get back on the same page. It's clear that the Broncos need both of them to be successful. Nix has all the makings of a future superstar, and Payton is getting the best out of him. Hopefully, this disagreement doesn't derail that partnership.
