The beloved Texas ice cream brand Blue Bell just announced a new camouflage-inspired flavor. Any guesses on what flavors they used to create the classic green/brown/tan color combination?
Here’s a hint: they’re calling the new flavor “Camo ‘n Cream.” But besides Milk Chocolate, it’s not the obvious flavors you’d think.
The creative new combo swirls together Milk Chocolate with Pistachio Almond and Cream Cheese ice creams. It’s a winning creation, according to Blue Bell marketing director Carl Breed.
“We are having a little fun with this flavor,” Breed says in a press release. “You see the camo design on everything these days, so we thought why not create an ice cream flavor that looks camouflage? The best part is these three flavors taste great together. We tried a few different combinations but chose these flavors because they complement each other so well. We think our fans will love the mixture of Pistachio Almond, Milk Chocolate and cream cheese ice cream.”
The new flavor almost has a Ben & Jerry’s aspect to it, with the creative name and flavor combination and all.
Be sure to keep a look-out for the camo-covered carton, which may be hiding in plain sight. If you look closely, the Blue Bell logo actually makes up the camo print design.
No doubt about it, Blue Bell is bouncing back in a big way. Camo ‘n Cream is the second brand-new flavor since the creamery opened its doors again. The company released Cookie Two Step this summer. Blue Bell also announced a return of its “Strawberries and Homemade Vanilla,” a classic.
