Blake Shelton Shares Exciting News About New Hallmark Film He Produced

Blake Shelton's song has become a recurring part of Hallmark's Christmas movie lore.

Blake Shelton's 2012 holiday song "Time For Me to Come Home for Christmas" has become a recurring part of Hallmark's Christmas movie lore. Shelton's mother, Dorothy Shackleford, co-wrote the song and sang harmony vocals on it. She co-wrote a book of the same title with Travis Thrasher, as well.

The Hallmark film "Time For Me to Come Home for Christmas" followed in 2019. Every year since, a new movie has followed: "Time for You to Come Home for Christmas" (2019), "Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas" (2020), "Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas" (2021), "Time for Him To Come Home For Christmas" (2022) and "Time For Her to Come Home for Christmas" (2023).

The newest installment debuts Thursday (Nov. 30) at 8 p.m. ET on Hallmark Mysteries and Movies. It's part of the network's Miracles of Christmas programming.

"We've got a brand new movie coming y'alls way!!!!," tweeted Shelton, who's among the film's executive producers.

His tweet includes the trailer, which introduces us to the story of a woman (played by Shenae Grimes-Beech) who leads a small-town church's choir's Christmas program while she grieves the death of her mother. Her romantic interest is played by former "Nashville" star Chris Carmack.

Rising country singer-songwriter Grace Leer is among the film's stars. Her song "Star on Top of the Tree" was released in October. It features prominently in the film.

"Acting has always been something I've wanted to pursue outside of music and the fact that my first acting gig is a Hallmark Christmas movie feels like a dream," Leer shared in a press release. "I am so grateful for the opportunity and to the entire Hallmark team who were so supportive and encouraging to me as a first time on screen actor.

"It was an incredible experience and I learned so much acting alongside Chris and Shenae as well as my director Ali Liebert," she continued. "This movie is exactly what Christmas is about and I cannot wait for fans to see it!"
