Blake Shelton Thanks New Fiancee Gwen Stefani at 2020 People's Choice Awards

After being named the year's top country artist on Sunday's (Nov. 15) E! People's Choice Awards, Blake Shelton used his acceptance speech to once again say adorable things about fellow The Voice coach Gwen Stefani.

"Thank you to my new fiancée, Gwen Stefani," Shelton said during one of the People's Choice Awards' (PCA's) lighter moments. "That's S-t-e-f-a-n-i, if you need to Google it to figure out who she is. Thanks for the inspiration and I love you guys, thank you."

Though he admittedly doesn't "spend a lot of time on social media anymore," Shelton added that he knows the amount of support he gets from his and Stefani's fanbases.

Shelton accepted his award at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California while Stefani watched E! Entertainment's top awards show from the couple's car, in line with coronavirus pandemic precautions.

"So basically I have to stay in the car because of COVID but I'm here to support Blake in case he wins," the No Doubt singer explained in an Instagram video.

Shelton won top country artist over Kane Brown, Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, Keith Urban, Luke Combs, Kelsea Ballerini and Miranda Lambert.

The couple met while working on NBC's The Voice in 2015. Both were coping with the end of high-profile celebrity marriages: Shelton split from Lambert that year, and Stefani divorced Gavin Rossdale.

It was Shelton's second year as the PCA's top country music artist.

This year's PCA's were hosted by Demi Lovato. Other highlights included Jennifer Lopez's People's Icon award acceptance speech, Justin Bieber's top male artist victory and The Voice's big win as the year's best competition show.

In 2019, Stefani won the Fashion Icon award.
