During an Oct. 4 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Niall Horan cracked up the show's namesake as well as fellow guest Gwen Stefani with a fairly spot-on Blake Shelton impersonation.
"This my is wife, Gwen Stefani," Horan said, complete with Shelton-like gestures. "I would love for you to be on my team."
Knowing that Horan could do even better, Hudson insisted that her guest be louder to better capture the essence of Shelton.
"I love Jennifer!," Horan shouted. "You could be on my team!"
When Shelton stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show on Nov. 17, Hudson played the clip of Horan's impersonation for her guest.
Shelton got a good laugh, saying "Oh my God, this guy..." before the footage rolled. However, Shelton's overall reaction was a kind one that spoke volumes about his friendship with Horan.
"I actually love that kid, and what's sad is we only got to work together on [my] last season of the show," Shelton said.
Back in October, Horan credited Shelton for getting him accustomed enough to live TV to win The Voice as a coach in his first try.
"I got on very well with Blake. I met him the day before we started shooting the [blind auditions]. We went for a drink the day before. I sat down with him for five minutes and I was like, 'This is my guy. I'm sticking with him,'" Horan said. "They put me next to him for the whole season — we had such a laugh. What you see with Blake is what you get, on camera, off camera, he's just that guy. He's just the nicest guy in the world. Loves what he loves and has a great time doing everything. He's just the best."
