Trends often come full circle. What's in today is out tomorrow, and then, a decade or so later, it's back in again. Never has this been truer than with the mullet. The iconic hairstyle that was popularized in the 80s has suddenly sprung back into fashion, and with it, Billy Ray Cyrus has begun to reminisce.

Not only has Cyrus been taking a trip down memory lane, but he's also fashioned a 'new mullet' to keep up with the trend. In a recent post to his Instagram account, the music star revealed a new-look mullet to his fanbase.
"Wanted to do something productive this morning since Tuesday feels like a Monday going on Wednesday. Made a new mullet," he wrote in the caption. "I call it. TRI CITY ALVAREZ WITH WILLIE IN THE BACK."
The end of his caption was referencing Willie Nelson's Stardust album, which could be seen in the background of the photograph that he shared.
Granted, Cyrus' new-look mullet isn't the real deal. He's been there, done that and moved on. Nowadays, it's kids, teenagers and young adults rocking that haircut. Still, there's nothing wrong with Cyrus putting a new twist on an old classic. Especially when he was a big part of making that classic cool in the first place.
Billy Ray Cyrus Recently Turned 65
Getting older is inevitable. Growing up is optional. Even now, just weeks after Cyrus celebrated his 65th birthday, he's still finding ways to show that he's young at heart. Nevertheless, that didn't stop his children, Noah and Miley, from sharing birthday wishes for what is certainly a milestone age.
"Happy birthday Fath[er]," Noah said in a video he posted to Instagram. "I love you and I miss you and I can't wait to give you a big hug. You're my hero. I love you so, so much. Happy birthday!"
Miley quickly followed up with her own birthday wishes.
"Happy birthday Dad! I'm so grateful for you, mostly for your really good hair," she said. "Love you! Happy birthday!"
Who knows, maybe Cyrus will fall back in love with the mullet and bring it all the way back. If not, well, he had his time with that hairdo. Now, his focus is clearly elsewhere, and that's okay, too.
