Though they've been dating since at least Sept. 2022 and got engaged last November, Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose had not made their romance red carpet official before Wednesday night's (Aug. 23) 2023 ACM Honors at the Ryman Auditorium.
Cyrus stuck with his usual aesthetic, choosing an all-black —aside from his straw cowboy hat— western wear outfit. Firerose took a similar look and topped it with sequins, glitter and rhinestones. The couple wore the same outfits on stage later in the night during a performance with rising country artist Travis Denning.

The public appearance came four days after Cyrus' ex-wife Tish wed Prison Break star Dominic Purcell.
The parents of musicians Miley, Braison and Noah Cyrus, Billy Ray and Tish divorced in April 2022 after over 28 years of marriage.
Billy Ray and Firerose confirmed last September that they were dating after being seen on one another's social media accounts and collaborating on a song in 2021. Engagement rumors began to circulate after Firerose was seen sporting a diamond ring in photos. Billy Ray has since opened up about how they met and how their burgeoning friendship turned into a romance.
He explained in Nov. 2022 that the couple met 12 years prior on the set of Hannah Montana, the Disney show that turned his daughter, Miley, into a star. He was taking a break from shooting one day with his dog, Tex, when he first saw her.
"There's a couple old pine trees on the lot that look like Tennessee," he shared. "Tex and I would go out there in the middle of the day and he'd take care of his business and we'd stretch and I'd think how much I missed Tennessee. On that given day, Firerose came out of the front door. There was almost a moment of, I don't know, recognition. I was like, 'This girl's a star.'"
