Big Red Ice Cream
Big Red isn't just great for drinking. This summer, start a new family tradition and whip up a batch of Big Red and strawberry ice cream.
- 1 liter Big Red soda
- 2 cans sweetened condensed milk (14 oz each)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 4 cups strawberries, cleaned and hulled
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- Make up to three days ahead: Combine the strawberries, sugar, and water in a medium sauce pan and cook over medium until the strawberries are soft. Remove from heat then mash with a potato masher. Refrigerate until completely chilled.
- Combine all ingredients in a 3 quart or larger ice cream maker, then churn according to package instructions.
