Beyoncé Snubbed Yet Again With ACM Awards Nominations But I'm Not Surprised

Beyoncé will probably never receive recognition from the country music industry proper. Sure, she won a handful of Grammys for her efforts with Cowboy Carter. But they don't exactly represent the industry proper, the Recording Academy represents a broader plane of music. Nashville largely stands for country music in particular. Its in that city in Tennessee where Beyoncé can't get that warm reception, from the CMA Awards and now the ACM Awards snubbing her of nominations.

Recently, the ACM Awards announced their nominations for their upcoming 2025 ceremony. In an interesting turn of events, Ella Langley leads the pack with nominations with eight in total. Country has never been subtle in laying out the red carpet for who they want to be their next star. We'll see how many awards she takes home before crowning her completely though. However, a notable exclusion from the evening festivities is Beyoncé, who finds herself on the outskirts of another night of prestige in country. She has been shut out from the night completely, a stark contrast to her big night at the Grammys.

Beyoncé Receives No Love in Nominations From The ACM Awards

Despite the cold reception she gets from country higher-ups, the artists seem to be mostly on Beyoncé's side. Someone like Lainey Wilson sees the obvious benefits that come with her giving the genre a spin. "So many people are finding out that they love country music who didn't know they liked it at all," Wilson tells NME. "Artists like Post and Beyoncé are introducing their audiences to this kind of music, and it's only done good things for the genre. It's cool to see."

Contrarily, an artist like Oliver Anthony can't stand Cowboy Carter. However, he also generally hates anything vaguely related to the music industry. So it's hard to feel like he came at the album in earnest at all. On the other side of the spectrum is Luke Bryan's overwhelming PR for Beyoncé. One part of me understands where he's coming from but I also see it as his way of cozying up to a global superstar.

Still, he labels her among the greatest to ever touch a microphone and certainly stands ahead of the pack within her generation. "Beyoncé, she's probably the greatest singer in our lifetime," Bryan says to Bill Maher on his Club Random podcast. "She's one of the best singer and performers and of all time in my opinion."
