A beloved singer is dead after a fall at a condominium. Vanessa Blanca, part of the group Sugarpop, has passed away at 30.

She was known for the hip-hop hit "DOTA O Ako." Her family confirmed her passing on social media.
"To our dear friends, relatives, and everyone who knew and loved Vanessa, it is with the heaviest of hearts that I share the heartbreaking news of the passing of my beloved first cousin and little sister, Vanessa Blanca Quillo Rangadhol, who tragically passed away today, August 19, 2026, following an accident at the condominium where she was staying in Manila,"

"At this painful time, we humbly ask everyone to please give her immediate family, especially her mother and loved ones, the time, space, and privacy they need to mourn and grieve," she also added. "Details regarding Vanessa's wake and funeral arrangements will be announced once the family has made the necessary arrangements. Rest peacefully, my dear Wani. You were deeply loved, and you will forever be remembered and missed."
Following her passing, her family gave more info on her tragic passing. Apparently, the singer injured herself in her bathroom while getting ready. According to Ivy, the singer tripped and fell, injuring her head in the process.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, her injuries proved to be fatal. The singer later passed away there.
"Vanessa sustained severe traumatic brain injury resulting in an internal brain hemorrhage following an accidental fall,"she wrote. "Despite the effort made to secure urgent medical assistance and (take) her to the hospital, Vanessa sadly passed away."
The singer leaves behind her catalog of work and her passion and dedication for the craft. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
