"The family requests privacy during this difficult time as we grieve our loss and personally contact family members," reads a statement made by Nunnally's family, shared with NBC4. "Thank you for your understanding and kind thoughts." While the cause of death is not directly stated, NBC4 stated that Nunnally had "complications" during his recovery. According to the station, Nunnally entered hospice care on Friday, December 6.

His colleagues, which he considered family, were in Nunnally's last thoughts as he covered himself with a blanket, with printed photos of him with his NBC4 colleagues. Understandably, his colleagues were shocked to learn about his death.

"Bob's charismatic and endearing nature made a lasting and positive impact on so many central Ohio viewers," Larry Cottrill, NBC4 Vice President and General Manager, said. "His professionalism and dedication to central Ohioans, along with his limitless kindness to everyone who interacted with him, is an inspiration to us all."

News anchor Monica Day, who shared invaluable moments with Bob Nunnally, posted a heartwarming post on Facebook, remembering Nunnally. "Bob was a kind person who wanted to do good. He understood the value of his position and used every opportunity to help others because of it," Day wrote.

Pancreatic Cancer And Recovery

Back in May 2024, NBC4 revealed that Bob Nunnally was diagnosed with dangerous pancreatic cancer back in 2022. This forced him to take time off to focus on his cancer fight. In the May 2024 article, Nunnally said that he was "cancer-free."

"My recovery has just been slow and start/stop, start/stop," Nunnally said at the time. "It's just like, I feel a little bit better and then I have a setback of some sort." Nunnally thought he would be back on air after his surgery, but he was wrong. He had to endure a long and hard recovery in an attempt to gain mobility and weight.

Bob Nunnally will certainly be missed by his colleagues at NBC4. His funeral will take place in Marion, according to the station.
