"It's difficult to find the right words this morning,"

John Tescione wrote on Facebook. "I was deeply saddened to learn our friend Blake Emmons has passed. Blake was one of those rare people whose presence lifted others up. Many of us in the veteran community knew him as a mentor, a supporter, and a steady voice of encouragement. He had a way of reaching out at exactly the right moment, reminding you that you weren't alone and that someone had your back."

According to Tescione, he met Emmons through a Wounded Warriors Weekend group.

"I was struck by his generosity of spirit and his genuine care for the people around him," he wrote. "The number of veterans and first responders he helped over the years is impossible to count, but the impact he made will live on in every one of us.

"Men like Blake leave a mark that doesn't fade," he also added. "His kindness, humor, and commitment to helping others are part of the legacy he leaves behind."

Meanwhile, others also mourned Emmons. The country singer charted several songs including 1969's "You're My Woman" and 1976's "Sunchild." He was also the host of the CTV series Funny Farm and The Country Place among other programs.
