Jason Isaacs has recently hit a pretty big milestone. In case you weren't aware, the beloved actor has now reached a wonderful 28 years of sobriety.
He took to social media to announce the milestone, whilst also opening up about his journey to fans. "28 years ago today, I woke up having spent the night without drugs," he announced, per People.
"That was the first time that'd happened for decades. And I've lived a life that's drug and drink free since." He went on to explain that he wasn't trying to gloat - him getting sober was meant to be an inspirational story.
"I'm not saying that to celebrate myself at all," the beloved actor explained, "I'm saying it in case this ever reaches anybody who thinks they're trapped, who thinks there is no way to change their life."
He views his story as a miracle - because he was convinced he "was going to do of and with drugs on and in" him. "I've seen remarkable and extraordinary things," he explained. "Just my own personal story, I was without any hope."

The Beloved Actor Begged People Struggling With Sobriety to Get Help
He says that whilst sobriety wasn't exactly the most smooth journey, he's happy to be here. He says he takes a lot of pride in how he had "surrendered" control, and asked for help.
The beloved actor then made a heartwarming plea. "So if you're in a dire situation, if you think there is no escape, I'm here to tell you that there is. Just ask. There's many ways to do it but you can change your life. So good luck and I give you all my love," he finished the inspirational post.
He also shared another heartwarming message in the caption of the video. "To all of you who know that you're different, though, that you're terminally unique and that there are no solutions that will work for you.... You're right: you can't do it, not alone."
"Your best thinking got you where you re, so maybe it's time to ask for help. There are so many arms waiting to catch you."
