These Guys Race Boats Made Entirely out of Beer Cans

Are you brave enough to set sail on a boat made entirely from beer cans? Every year, Australians gather on Mindil Beach to do just that. Participants gather for a one-of-a-kind beer can boat race called "Darwin's Beer Can Regatta." If you're a beer drinker, this could be your new favorite event.

Don't let the beer cans fool you. There are rules for the race. The boats can't be tested for seaworthiness prior to water events. Made from empty beer cans and kegs, the boats also must be kept afloat mainly by the cans.

The Regatta hosts several other events outside of the beer can race. There are kids running races, tug-of-war contests, a sand castle competition, and a treasure hunt called the "Battle of Mindil." But unsurprisingly, the beer can race is the most popular.
