Beauty pageant queen Brynn Carnesecca has died at the age of 21. As reported by E!News, she tragically passed away by suicide on July 26.
A candlelit vigil was held for her on July 28. There, her mother Michele spoke about her life. She said to local news outlet KSL that she wanted the beauty pageant queen to be remembered by the "amazing life she lived."
Michele said during the vigil, "She took her own precious life, but she is more than what happened to her... She was an incredible writer and reader from a young age." Although Carnesecca was known for having starred in Miss Utah 2025 and having won the Miss Congeniality Award, she also had several other projects.
Michele explained she was published by American Fork Citizen, the Lehi Free Press, and also BYU's Daily Universe. About her writing, Michele explained, "Brynn loved telling stories, and she loved writing. And I think for her, journalism was a way that she could not only do good in the community but also express her passions in writing."
Her candlelit vigil had attendees wearing yellow in her honor, with yellow and white balloons being sent across the venue.

Tributes have poured in for the beauty pageant queen from family and friends, as well as fans.
Her sister, Cate, posted a touching tribute on social media following her tragic passing. "My favorite phrase that we would always use is 'we do this life together,' and unfortunately that isn't the case anymore," she wrote, alongside a touching carousel of images of their family.
She added, "Let Brynn's story be an example that you never know what someone is going through. So please hug your loved ones a little tighter today for those of us who can't."
Commenters also shared their condolences on social media. One person who knew her wrote, "She had a heart of gold, not an ounce of selfishness in her heart and the kindest words to lift people up."
Another commenter lamented, "People never know what's going on deep inside. Brynn was such an amazing human, everyone loved her."
