Barefoot Hard Seltzer Gives Wimpy White Claw a Run For Its Money

If you like White Claw, you'll love Barefoot Hard Seltzer. The popular brand of wine introduced a wine-infused hard seltzer line in 2020, and it's definitely worth a try if you already know you like Barefoot Wine or hard seltzer water beverages. With a variety of flavors like black cherry, and only 2 grams of sugar, these little four-packs are easy to find at retailers everywhere. And they're pretty good too.

What is Hard Seltzer?

Hard seltzer is a highball drink that includes carbonated water, alcohol, and usually fruit flavorings. It's also called spiked seltzer or hard sparkling alcohol water.

Generally, the alcohol by volume, or ABV, of hard seltzer is around 5 percent. It's usually pretty low-calorie, too. In the United States, this type of alcohol is most often made by fermenting cane sugar.

What is Barefoot Hard Seltzer?

The Barefoot brand came out with hard seltzers in early 2020. The drinks are a "vibrant and refreshing blend of sparkling water, grape wine, and natural flavors," the site boasts.

They offer 8.4 fl oz/250ml cans in a few different flavors: Peach & Nectarine Hard Seltzer, Cherry & Cranberry, Pineapple & Passionfruit, and Strawberry & Guava Hard Seltzer.

There is also a 12 can variety pack that has three cans of each of those flavors, simply called the Hard Seltzer Variety Pack. Plus, they offer a Sun Perfect Favorites variety pack. That variety-12 pack has the following flavors: Watermelon & Lime, Blueberry & Lemon, Pineapple & Passionfruit, and Strawberry & Guava.

The seltzers are made with real wine and are gluten-free if that's a dietary concern of yours.

What Else Does Barefoot Sell?

The brand also has Barefoot Spritzer, red, white, and pink wines, a "bubbly" line, an on-tap product line, and wine-to-go blends in flavors like Sweet Red Blend, which is a mix of ripe raspberries, sweet pomegranates, and red cherry, or Sauvignon Blanc, which tastes like melon, nectarines, peaches, and lime.

So if Bud Light isn't your thing, you might consider picking up a Barefoot Hard Seltzer Variety pack or bringing a cooler with Barefoot Hard Seltzer cans in it to your next party or potluck. Or, Smirnoff always works too!
