"This morning, our truck was stolen in Oakland," the band wrote on Instagram. "It had all of our stage design, wardrobe, lighting/audio gear, merch, and instruments for the Waves Tour. So, we're heartbroken to say that we have to reschedule the rest of our tour. Berkeley, Sacramento, LA, San Diego, we are so sorry."

The band then continued to provide new dates for the final stage of its current tour, noting that they will be back on the road starting July 29 in Berkeley.

Shortly after informing their fans via Instagram, messages of support started to fill the comments section.

"Nooo not Moonchild," one user wrote. "So sorry this happened to you."

Another user suggested the group should post a list of gear that has been stolen, allowing fans to keep an eye out for anything that goes on sale.

"Maybe post an extensive gear list so if people see it popping up for sale you guys can track it," the user suggested. "So sorry to hear this I hate when people take advantage of working musicians."

Moonchild Has Now Set up a GoFundMe

Following the theft of the band's gear, Moonchild has now set up a GoFundMe. They have already raised $32,500 of their $60,000 target.

"On April 29th, our truck with our musical instruments, stage design, wardrobe, and lighting/audio gear for the Waves Tour was stolen in Oakland," the band wrote. "The scale and amount of loss is immense. We're still processing it all. These funds will assist with needs that aren't covered by other sources."

The band will undoubtedly be looking to secure replacement gear as soon as possible. Getting back out on tour is the best thing for the group's growth within the industry. There was no information as to whether the police had been contacted or what the next steps were in that regard.

Right now, the group is working through an unfortunate event. Hopefully, it can bounce back stronger.
