Bailey Zimmerman Is Calling For Justin Bieber To Go Country, But I Have To Say Hard Pass!

Justin Bieber has been out of the music game for a while at this point but has been teasing a return on his social media. Artists have flooded his comments begging for a colab, with Bailey Zimmerman calling for a Justin Bieber country crossover. I don't think anyone wants that.

Justin Bieber got the industry in an uproar with an Instagram post of three obscure pictures. The caption, "Dm me if u wanna make music together," had people clamoring for his attention. Some big names reached out, too.

Big Sean and even Drake reached out for a collaboration with Justin Bieber. It appears that everyone wants a piece. But it was Bailey Zimmerman who encouraged Bieber to do a little bit of country. He didn't even ask to work with him, he just demanded a genre switch up.

"WE NEED COUNTRY JB," he commented under the Instagram post. But not everyone was on board with the idea. I count myself among them.

Leave Country Alone Bieber

We had the pleasure of watching Beyonce, another pop star, step into the world of country last year, and we all know how that went down. Country Puritans were outraged. Music awards were in turmoil, and even Beyonce herself ended up claiming 'Cowboy Carter' wasn't country.

Country music crossover artists are a sore spot for many country music fans. Many believe that to really be country, you need to be pure. Justin Bieber is not country by any stretch of the imagination and never has been.

But that doesn't mean he hasn't had a little foray into the country music genre before. The track '10,000 Hours' with Dan+Shay is unmistakably country. But I feel that is more the work of Dan+Shay than Bieber. His vocals add a lot to the track, but he's definitely in the back seat for the production of that one.

I am sure that Bieber could make a country album if he put his mind to it, but I don't think that's where he's going next. Bieber has always been on the pop/R'n'B side of the musical spectrum. A step into the country world would upset both his fans and the die-hard gatekeepers of the country music genre.
