Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell's son, Baylee Littrell, 22, auditioned for American Idol, and will likely participate in the coming season.
Baylee revealed on his Instagram earlier this month that he auditioned for the popular show. "Well guys, recently I had the opportunity to audition for @americanidol. Tune in to see the season premiere and what happens on 3/9/25!" he wrote, encouraging his fans to watch the show.
Brian Littrell commented on the post, writing, "Bubba I can't wait!!!!! Good Luck we're all counting on you hahaha."
His post likely means that Baylee got through auditions, else I don't think he'd be too happy to announce his audition. What's more, is that his dad, Brian, spoke to Today about his son's audition.
"He's actually on the new 'American Idol' this season, which is a little caveat of information," he shared. Being 'on' the show could mean simply that he will be present for his audition, although I'm sure we can all agree he's definitely made the cut.
Despite Littrell's huge influence, it appears that he doesn't just want to hand a music career to his son; Baylee will need to earn it.
Brian Littrell Says That Baylee Has Been Working Incredibly Hard
"He was just texting me last night, going, 'Dad, dude, how do you do this? Like, it's hard work,'" Brian Littrell recalled. "He's been busting his butt, and I'm super proud of him. He kind of gets a new sense of reality of what this is."
Although Baylee has been raised by a Backstreet Boys legend, it's clear he'll have to pave his own way. It's only right and fair, as Brian had to do the same thing. Not that he hasn't had some help from his dad.
From a young age, Baylee accompanied the Backstreet Boys in tours and performances, where he'd introduce the group. When he was a little older, he'd even open for them. It seems he's walking down his own path, now.
If you want to see how Baylee Littrell performs, then you'd better tune in to American Idol.
