A Bachelor producer is opening up about a near-death experience. Bachelor producer Desiree Duckett suffered a brain aneurysm during The Golden Bachelorette.

Speaking on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Duckett opened up about what happened. "Which is a crazy sentence to say; it still sounds crazy coming out of my mouth. Essentially, my brain exploded," Duckett said. "It's a brain bleed, and it causes a stroke. Your brain shuts down, your body shuts down, your cognitive abilities shut down, everything shuts down."
She continued, "I don't know another way to put it. You're dying, essentially."
Fortunately, other Bachelor producers sprang into action. They called emergency services that came and saved her life.
'Bachelor' Producer Talks Near-Death
"It was spooky," she said, "It's the worst pain of your life," is accurate. The only way to explain it is it felt like someone took a bat to the inside of my head and you just, like, feel it explode. It's crazy."
The producer was at the ICU in Los Angeles. She remained at the hospital for a month, going into a coma. She had to learn how to walk and talk again.
"It was a long recovery," Duckett said. It was a crazy thing that happened. But I had so much support from Bachelor Nation, from my friends and family, my support system. I felt a lot of love and a lot of support."
She admittedly felt lucky to still be there and to make a full recovery. She said, "most people don't survive, and then those who do survive, most don't make a full recovery. People thought I was probably gonna die. I heard from everyone and that's when everyone told me like to my face what I meant to them."
"That's just an experience that I hope no one else ever has to have, but that is the best thing for me that came out of it," Duckett also shared. "It was really eye-opening and just made me feel so special and appreciated. And I really I can't really put it into words, but it really meant it meant everything."
