Aubrie Sellers is no secret in Nashville. The talented young songwriter has a great pedigree, thanks to her mom, Lee Ann Womack, and dad, Jason Sellers. And of course, having producer Frank Liddell as her step-dad doesn't hurt.
But she's finally making some noise in the country world outside Nashville, too. She released her debut album, New City Blues, at the beginning of 2016 and headed out on the road.
Now, Sellers offers this feisty new video for her debut single, "Sit Here and Cry." If you're thinking the song is an old-school country ballad based on the title, try again. And if you think Sellers means every word of the song, the video offers a sarcastic wink and a nod.
It's not hard to hear the influences of both her mom Lee Ann Womack and her step-dad's biggest artist, Miranda Lambert. Sellers has a silky smooth voice but an undeniable attitude and a grungy sound. She's a lot like a garage rocker playing country music.
She hits the road for a big tour in January, opening for Miranda Lambert on the Highway Vagabond Tour. Old Dominion joins the lovely ladies as well. Sellers also has a few upcoming solo dates.
