Atlanta Musician Accused of Shooting Teen at Beach Before Performance

The Atlanta musician allegedly shot a teenager just hours before performing at a nightclub in Florida. Now, he's been arrested.

An Atlanta musician has been accused of shooting a teenager before a show. As reported by People, the alleged incident occurred on Saturday, April 25.

26-year-old Jayy Wick, whose real name is Donald Anderson, has been arrested for the alleged crime. He was arrested on Wednesday, May 6, according to a statement released by the Bay County Sheriff's office.

The musician allegedly shot an 18-year-old teen at a Florida beach, just hours before performing at the Vibez Night Club in Panama City, Florida.

In a

statement released on Facebook, the Bay County Sheriff's Office explained how they managed to catch the musician. "After opening fire, Anderson fled the scene and continued his night as if nothing happened. But our investigators didn't stop. They tracked him across state lines to the Atlanta area, where, working alongside Panama City PD, the United States Marshal Service, Atlanta PD, and Clayton County PD, he was taken into custody."

The office added that "a firearm was recovered at the time of his arrest." Sherriff Tommy Ford issued a chilling warning to other criminals. "We will not tolerate this kind of violent behavior in Bay County. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are. If you come to Bay County to commit these crimes, we will find you and hold you accountable."

Jayy Wick, if convicted, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years, if he's convicted of first-degree murder. However, it wasn't clear whether the musician knew the victim, so he might not necessarily be facing a first-degree charge.
