Astronaut Scott Kelly is having an out-of-this-world experience aboard the International Space Station. Kelly embarked on his space journey in March of 2015 and has been documenting his adventures on Twitter. Earlier this week Kelly tweeted a picture of Texas from space, and all the big metropolitan areas are clearly visible.
You can see the Dallas/Fort Worth area near the middle-right of the picture, and below that, Austin, and a clear trail connecting the Capital city to San Antonio. Off to the far right is the sprawl of the Lone Star State's largest city, Houston.
The picture was taken at 6:30 AM and the bright white flare at the right edge of the photo is, you guessed it, the sunrise as it begins to approach Texas.
Last year, Kelley shared this photo of Texas from the space station.
Here's one of his shots of Houston from space.
Kelly also tweeted pictures of Louisiana and Mexico this week, and some other breathtaking photos of things that can only be properly viewed from space, such as the massive pollution over Asia.

Kelly has an identical twin brother, Mark Kelly, who is also an astronaut. The brothers are the only recorded siblings to have both traveled in space.
