Man, teachers really don't get paid enough. I could never get paid minimum wage to hear kids whine, yell at each other, and apparently steal my money. An art teacher is claiming that one of her students stole her credit card and went on a shopping spree.

The Crime
On March 21st, art teacher Tammy Huggins received a text message from her credit card company. They were wondering why she made a $220 purchase on the popular clothing site Shein. Being the middle school art teacher she was, any purchase of over $100 raised her eyebrows.
So, like any rational being, she went to check her pocketbook. Unsurprisingly, she was missing all of her credit cards, her driver's license, and $200 in cash. Someone had stolen her wallet.
In an interview with First Alert Four, she stated, "I was like 'Oh, Shein. I know who did this,'" Now I'm gonna pause us here for a brief second. What do you think happened next? Did she raise this issue with the school and get all of her belongings back? No. Did the kid fess up to being a criminal and get a suspension if he was lucky? Nope. Did his parents make him apologize to her face so he could see the damage he'd done? Of course not.
Let's read on and see what happens.
The Fallout
When the Mason-Clark Middle School Principal heard about the issue, he let the art teacher know, "'The family wants to make you whole.'" I had no idea what that meant. And I'm willing to bet Huggins didn't either. Surely it didn't mean that the principal was only going to give her one credit card back after her wallet was stolen.
But that's exactly what happened. The teacher got one credit card back and an apology. She never got the $200 in cash back. She never even sniffed any of the other contents of her wallet. Just the one card.
The family didn't mention anything about the entire wallet. They offered to pay back the purchase, and made their kid write a formal apology, and that was that.
People have been imprisoned for lesser crimes. Beyond just the theft, isn't making purchases with someone else's credit card like identity theft or something? Do you want to know the worst part of this whole situation? The kid was bragging about it to his friends. Bragging that he stole his struggling art teacher's credit card. Kids are monsters.
The school released a statement following the alleged crime. It said, "We take all reports of lost or missing property seriously and address them in accordance with our policies and procedures. Our priority is to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment for all students and staff. While we cannot comment on specific situations, we remain committed to fostering a culture of integrity and responsibility within our schools."
