Man With Advanced Colon Cancer Renews Wedding Vows With His Beloved Wife as a Final Wish

Sometimes anything wedding-related brings tears to people's eyes. Watching two individuals join their lives forever in a beautiful ceremony is emotional. The same can hold true for couples renewing their vows. However, in the case of one Arkansas husband and wife, the bittersweet context of their wedding vow renewal probably felt quite real. Per KFSM29 News, Bryan Rose has stage 4 colon cancer. He and his wife, Terri, decided to renew their matrimonial pledge to each other as his last wish. I would guess that amidst their joy and gratitude, there was was also a subtle underpinning of sadness. Rose went into hospice that same week.

Per the outlet, "The Roses renewed their wedding vows Wednesday at Circle of Life hospice care in Bentonville. After the ceremony, there was a reception attended by family and friends."

The Roses' Event Planner Weighed In

They are in many ways a typical couple. As Kristin Hoops of Blushing Gypsy Events said, "Bryan and Terri, what I've learned about them is before his illness, they were full of life. Just a very fun couple, they enjoyed all the things and were very outgoing."

She worked on the event for weeks. An organization comparable to Make a Wish, Wish Upon a Wedding, was also part of the strategizing. They orchestrate "weddings and vow renewals to couples facing terminal illness," per the outlet.

Circle of Life hospice also stepped in to help. Marketing Manager Nancy Desler said, "We've done airplane rides, but we also get requests for milkshakes and apple pie and a favorite meal or just to be able to pet a horse again."

They Are Genuine Soulmates

When Terri Rose talks about her feelings for Bryan, it sounds like a case of storybook love at first sight. She candidly shared with KNWA Fox24, "We met in Fayetteville and had a very brief engagement. When we met, we were both in our late 30s and knew what we wanted and didn't want. When we met and we fell in love, it was very easy and very quick. It was just perfect."

What about Bryan appeals to her so much? "His laugh, his confidence, his smile. He's got a wonderful smile and the most beautiful blue eyes." Terri Rose added, "His sense of humor, his faith, that's a big one. He'll be the first person to tell you that cancer brought him back to God. And his strength. He is so strong."

People reports that the Roses' 22nd wedding anniversary was Wednesday, October 21, the same day as their vow renewal. However, KNWA Fox24 states that their 22nd anniversary is in November.
