A woman in Mesa, Arizona, wanted to be the "best grandma ever" and have a mini, padded wrestling ring made for her grandkids. It didn't turn out that way.

As reported by KNXV in Phoenix, after spending hundreds of dollars to get the materials to build it, the contractor she hired took the items. Then, he ghosted her.

These Kids Love Wrestling

Lisa Boshears is the grandmother of five grandchildren, with their ages ranging from 2 to 9. And they're all obsessed with the WWE.

When they were surprised with a wrestling-themed Christmas tree one year, they reacted with absolute excitement. They also reenact the matches they see on television.

"They'll jump on the furniture and go up, and just dive on the other boy on the ground. Then they'll say, I got the smack down for you, I got the smack down for ya," Boshears said.

All this action takes a toll on Boshears' furniture. Seeing this, last fall, the grandmother had an idea: building a mini wrestling ring for her grandkids.

This way, they could practice their finishing moves in a safe space because it would be heavily padded. It would also reduce the wear and tear on her furniture.

"I'll be the best grandma ever," Boshears said.

Grandma Got to Planning

Boshears began designing the project and purchased around $500 worth of materials. Ready to make her dream a reality, she hired a contractor who was a friend of a friend. She dropped off the materials and waited.

However, by the time Christmas arrived, Boshears still hadn't heard from the contractor. She tried contacting him, but he stopped replying to her messages.

In other words, the contractor ghosted the grandma.

When asked by a reporter if she had anything to say to the contractor, she said, "I want to tell him, 'No hard feelings. My grandkids did nothing to you. Don't take it out on them.'"

The station reached out to the contractor hired by Boshears. They haven't heard back. She is still looking for someone to build the mini wrestling ring.
