A Good Samaritan Arizona father, Paul Clifford, 53, left his home on December 23 to help what appeared to be a man whose vehicle had broken down. Clifford never returned home, and his family grew concerned and attempted to track Clifford's vehicle. Unfortunately, on Christmas Eve, Clifford's body was found in an isolated area with his vehicle burning.

"My dad went missing last night at 11:30, he took my truck to go jump start someone's vehicle," Paul Clifford's daughter, Sabrina Vining,
posted on Facebook. "We tracked the truck and the police have found it in Tucson, a truck went over Redington pass to get to the east side."However, the family's hopes of finding Paul quickly vanished. Authorities found his lifeless body next to his smoldering vehicle in a secluded area in Tucson. Paul Clifford had left his Benson, Arizona home the previous night to help the unidentified man. That is a 46-mile trip.
"My dad was found, he was murdered," Vining wrote in a heartbreaking update. "We were told details that were later released to the media, but had not been confirmed with until this morning that it was him."
According to the Daily Mail, authorities were left dumbfounded after reaching Clifford's body. They deemed the body's location as "impossible to reach." Pima County Sheriff's Department Deputy Adam Schoonover deemed the situation "suspicious."
"It's very far, it's very remote and to get out there it takes a specific vehicle. I think you can get there in a two-wheel vehicle but it's going to be very slow going," Schoonover said. "It's an isolated, rugged area. The circumstances of how he ended up there are deeply suspicious."
A Devastated Family
The family, devastated, are still looking for answers. No arrests have been made and the identity of the man is still unknown. Furthermore, there is no clarity on whether the unidentified man had anything to do with Clifford's death. Investigations continue, and Clifford's family needs as much support as they can find.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of my dad. He was a gentle giant and had a huge, caring heart. I am at a loss for my mom and doing everything in my power to support her at this time," Vining shared in a GoFundMe campaign. "We are hoping to have services soon and will update when we have more information to provide. This is an active investigation and we are praying for swift justice."
Days after the incident, on December 30, police engaged in a stand-off with several individuals who were then arrested in connection with Paul Clifford's death. No further information has been shared at the moment.
