The incident took place in Attleboro on Friday, and a witness caught the incident on video. According to WHDH, police arrived at the scene after receiving several 911 calls at around 8:50 am. When officers arrived, they found an injured woman, Hailea Soares, on the road "crying, in obvious pain, and bleeding from her head."

The eyewitness video shows what happened. Soares is having a physical altercation with a much larger man beside an SUV with its door open. During the struggle, the man lifts Soares off the floor and throws her into the ground. Based on the footage, it looks like she hits the floor head-first.

In an interview with WHDH, Hailea explains what happened just before the incident. "He kept slamming on his brakes. Then, when we got to the intersection, we hit a light. We didn't even make it across. He slammed on his brakes, so I hit him." "I've never seen this man in my life," she added.

Soares exited her car to take a video of the damage with her phone. The man allegedly took her phone and threw her to the ground moments later. Soares explains she was also slammed to the ground a second time.

Authorities took Soares to Sturdy Memorial Hospital. She is in a stable condition and the report says she escaped the ordeal with "a broken knee, a broken foot, a significant injury to her eye socket, and a very serious injury to her skull."

Authorities Have Charged The Man With Multiple Felonies

Authorities have identified the man in the video as Gladior Kwesiah, 26, from Pawtucket. According to ABC6, Kwesiah has been charged with "assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property, and driving without a license."

In an interview with WHDH, SGT Kevin Sellers described the incident as "unacceptable conduct stemming from what was essentially a minor motor vehicle crash."

A family friend has set up a GoFundMe to help with recovery costs. The page was also set up to help with rent and utilities. At the time of writing, the fundraiser has raised $26,941 of a $40,000 target.
