"PEOPLE can also confirm that Blue was released from custody on Saturday, March 21. It's unclear if he has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf. Further details surrounding the incident were not immediately known."
Jourdan finished third on America's Got Talent in 2025. Chris Turner finished second while Jessica Sanchez won the competition.
During his audition, Jourdan, a former street performer, secured a golden buzzer from Howie Mandel. His performance was arguably the highlight of the premier episode for season 20. During his time on the reality TV competition, Jourdan generated a national following, setting him up for a potentially lucrative career for years to come.
"I think you're a star," Mandel told Jourdan as he hit the golden buzzer. "I think your name is gonna be on the lips of everybody watching this across the globe."
Jourdan Blue Has Previously Dealt With Addicition Issues
When speaking with PEOPLE in 2025, Jourdan revealed that he'd previously battled addiction. However, a near-fatal overdose quickly put things into perspective, proving to be the catalyst for him to turn his life around.
"It wasn't intentional, but I realized my whole life could have been gone from one dumb decision," he shared with PEOPLE. "I quit cold turkey — stopped everything. It was hard, but the reward was so much bigger than the struggle."
Given the nature of his arrest, his fans will undoubtedly hope that this is an isolated incident and that he hasn't begun slipping back into old and destructive habits.
Jourdan Blue Went From Street Performing to TikTok
Most America's Got Talent fans will remember Jourdan due to his roots as a street performer. However, as he told PEOPLE, he's now transitioned to sharing his gift on social media, most notably TikTok.
"I realized that on TikTok, I could reach thousands of people I'd never meet in person," he said. "It helped me refine my craft, build confidence, and connect with an audience in ways I hadn't imagined."
Hopefully, he can put these current legal issues behind him and get back to making music.
That's his calling.
