Thomas Rhett pays tribute to country living and American culture in his patriotic new video for "American Spirit."
The nostalgic track taps into the soft pulse of small-town America. Overall, the bonus track from his 2015 record Tangled Up shows a much more subdued side of Rhett in comparison to his most recent singles, "T-Shirt," "Vacation" and "Star of the Show."
"'American Spirit' is one of my favorite songs to sit down and play on an acoustic guitar," Rhett said in a statement. "So, I knew I wanted to make a video for it, just to share with our fans. I knew I wanted it to be simple and something that would pull on the heartstrings and I think it's the perfect blend of that."
The Grammy-nominated singer takes it back home to his family farm in the video, which includes appearances from his wife Lauren and their dogs. Directed by TK McKamy, the clip gives an inside look into Rhett's "big life in a small town," while seamlessly weaving in scenes of classic American culture: county fairs, Fourth of July fireworks and country concerts.
