Enjoying the outdoors can be difficult for those who are confined to a wheelchair. Now, a brilliant new product is allowing disabled park visitors the chance to explore the grounds on their own terms.
This unique invention is an all-terrain wheelchair called the Action TrackChair. Its design features wheels that resemble what you would see on a tank, and allows the user to easily go off-road. The unique design lets you travel up inclines and through other terrain that is simply not suitable for traditional wheelchairs.
You can see a demonstration of how easily this amazing invention works below.
This chair in particular came to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Office through a donation from the non-profit organization Friends of Staunton. The chair was dedicated in memory of Mark Madsen, a paralyzed man who loved visiting Colorado's scenic Staunton Park.
Ultimately, the non-profit's goal is to roll the chair out to other parks across the country. Until then, disabled visitors of Staunton Park will truly be able to enjoy all that the park has to offer for years to come.
