The shocking story of a man setting a sleeping woman alight in a New York subway has stunned everyone. The depraved crime has spurred a lot of noise, so let's narrow down exactly what we know about the suspect, and what's speculation or unconfirmed.

Frustratingly, it's much easier to list what we don't know as opposed to what we do. The only information out now was put out by NYPD authorities. As the case is so fresh, not many details have been put forward.
NYPD's Joseph Gulotta has said that the man emigrated from Guatemala to the United States in 2018. It is unclear whether he did so legally or illegally. The identity of the man has purposefully remained anonymous. Images of the man were circulated, which aided in his arrest in Herald Square station when he was identified by "three high school-age New Yorkers."
Gulotta has also said that there was "no interaction" between the suspect and the victim. This leads the police to believe they didn't know each other. If true, this makes this crime arbitrary, which makes it all the more depressing.
Aside from his immigration history and facial features, nothing else has been confirmed by authorities.
What We Don't Know About The Subway Murder Suspect
The name and age of the suspect has not been officially released. Although his face is readily available, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone on the internet manages to dig up all his information and plaster it everywhere for all to see.
Fox News Digital, however, has said that a "high-level NYPD source" told them the suspect's name is Sebastin Zapeta, and that he is 33 years old.
Also unknown is the motive for the crime. As far as police are currently concerned, the man walked up to the lady and set her on fire for no apparent reason. His mental state is also unaccounted for, although I'm unsure it'll do a lot to justify the act.
No charges have yet been made.
The investigation is early, so we'll have to wait to find out more.
The longer the police hold his identity, the higher the chances of others taking it into their own hands to get information about the suspect. Make sure to cross-reference and check the sources of any information you receive that is not from an official body.
We will report as more becomes available.

I think he would have been better off with Mom. Maybe 2 people would be alive today.
