TLC released the trailer on their official YouTube channel

The 1-minute video opens with a narrator exclaiming, "seven children, six animals, two parents." The opening quarter of the trailer shows multiple clips of the Baldwin family having fun before cutting to black with a dramatic tonal shift.

The trailer then focuses directly on the incident that took place on the Rust set. The infamous tragedy happened back in 2021 when Baldwin allegedly fired a prop gun loaded with a live round, killing a cinematographer. The New York Post reported back in July 2024 that a judge threw out the case against Baldwin and accused prosecutors of withholding critical information.

The trailer ends with a scene of solidarity between Alec and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin. The final screen reads 'New Series. February 23 10/9c.'

The Reality Show Trailer Has Garnered A Mixed Response

While the intention of the trailer was likely to convey how the well-publicized events on the set of Rust affected Baldwin, it arguably had the opposite effect. The trailer on YouTube is sitting at just 176 likes at the time of writing. With a 'dislike viewer,' the amount of downvotes is much higher at 554. We can't say with certainty how accurate the votes are, but this ratio seems to line up with the comments section.

A top-rated comment by @diansasmita-tx7eh reads, "'A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy ... and we're trying to parent through it. somehow, they make it about themselves..." At the time of writing, this comment has over 100 upvotes and multiple replies.

Another upvoted comment by @sowhappy says, "Pretty shameful to use a death for show publicity...especially when he pulled the trigger. Not buying the 'woe is me. I'm going to lament in my mansion with a manicured lawn and pool.' Cue the sad music..."

Many comments share a similar sentiment, although others jump to the defense of Baldwin and his family. @vivian-bu4me writes, "Baldwin is a great actor. I believe the shooting was an ACCIDENT, lots of unforgiven people."
