The "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" singer marked the occasion by sharing a picture of himself and Denise holding their first granddaughter on Instagram on Monday, March 23. It is the second child of the couple's oldest daughter, Mattie, and her husband, Connor Smith. She was born on Feb. 13.
What Is Alan Jackson's Granddaughter's Name?
Jackson shared their granddaughter's name in the caption of the post.
"Denise and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our first granddaughter Charlotte Ann (Charlie) Smith. Charlie joined our family on Feb 13," he wrote. "Proud parents are Mattie and Connor Smith."
Mattie and Connor announced the arrival of their new bundle of joy on Mattie's own Instagram account on Feb. 17. The couple is also the parents of Wesley Alan, who was born on June 20, 2024.
"Our little valentine decided to make her entrance a few days early, and we couldn't be more in love with her," read the caption. "You are the greatest tiny pink blessing, angel girl! Momma, Dada, and even big brother and Ryman already love you so."
Jackson and his wife's journey as grandparents began in December 2022 when their daughter, Ali, gave birth to a baby boy with her husband, Sam Bradshaw. The country music icon also has another daughter named Dani.
Last year, Jackson had the opportunity to perform for his grandchildren for the first time. Mattie talked about the moment on social media.
"This weekend Ali and I got to take our boys to their first @officialalanjackson show. There's no telling how many shows I've been at in my life, but my goodness was this one special for all of us," she wrote.
Jackson Will Have More Time to Spend With His Grandchildren Soon
After June, Jackson will have a little more time to spend with his grandkids. That's when he will be performing his final show in Nashville.
Titled Last Call: One More for the Road - The Finale, the concert is scheduled for Saturday, June 17, 2026, at Nissan Stadium. Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Riley Green, Jon Pardi, Cody Johnson, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, and Lee Ann Womack are confirmed to appear.
Jackson's decision to retire is influenced by his diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. It is an inherited neurological disorder that causes progressive nerve damage and muscle weakness.
While it is related to conditions like muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's disease because of its effects on the nervous system, it is a distinct disorder with its own set of symptoms.
