Some rock bands are so unique that they almost transcend categorization. Aerosmith is like that. The fierce "Toys in the Attic" group never lost their fire, despite the passage of an almost unbelievable 56 years since launching. In fact, they always seem to have a delectable trick up their sleeves. This time, it's a spectacular pair of concerts planned for Thursday, October 29 and Sunday, November 1. The venue is Los Angeles' storied Hollywood Bowl.

Many Music A-listers Will Join Aerosmith
Titled California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends, the legendary rockers assembled an all-star bunch of iconic names to take the stage with them. Among the luminaries scheduled, per Aerosmith's web site, are Eric Church, Billy Idol, Sammy Hagar, Don Was, Heart, the Black Crowes, Slash, and more. Fans can expect some surprises as well. All these superb performers will help Aerosmith commemorate their truly amazing career.
Per People, "Many of the artists have previously performed or recorded with Aerosmith, while others cite the musicians as their biggest musical influence."
The Band Posted a Short, Witty Video on Social Media Touting the Two Concerts
To help spread the word, Aerosmith posted a video on Instagram. It features Steve Tyler and photographer Ross Halfin. They are standing in front of the Hollywood Bowl. The two horse around and quip to each other about the upcoming shows. The men are putting the finishing touches on the site's marquee proclaiming the concerts.
Halfin asks Tyler, "Don't you miss performing?" To which he coolly replies, "Of all the things I ever missed, I miss my mind the most."
Aerosmith Was Welcomed Into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25 Years Ago
In the essay about the band on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame web site, they are called "a gritty, unpretentious rock & roll outfit." Of Steven Tyler, the author praised his "cheerfully sleazy swagger." That raw, cocky attitude suffuses their best music. That is especially true of classic tunes like "Sweet Emotion" and "Walk This Way."
